Realms of Possibility: Unveiling the Potential of VR Events Through Innovative Business Ideas

The ingenuity of an entrepreneur is unparalleled, from creativity to analytical skills most people with this title are a one-stop shop of productivity. This sentiment rang true on Thursday, February 24th in the Innovation Hub. Welcoming over 60 entrepreneurship students from 3 different sections, this bootcamp aimed to develop a business model for our weekly VR event, Realms, held at the Innovation Hub. Fantastic mentors including Jason Brown, Wendy Whitehead, and the Innovation Hub’s very own Steve Janssens, laid the foundation for what Realms is and the potential for sustainable business models. For a more in-depth look at what Realms is check out our blog on the event, coming soon!

The bootcamp kicked off with an engaging presentation delving into the world of Realms, followed by a deep dive into the framework for crafting comprehensive business models. This framework served as the students' compass throughout the workshop, empowering them to navigate the exciting world of business planning. And if you're itching to get your hands on the template used, you can find it here!

From there students homed in on their objective to ideate a business plan for the potential future of the Virtual Reality event. The Hub buzzed with innovation as students began to go through the business model templates, and their ideas for what Realms could become began to flow.

To further their understanding, the students were provided with a live demonstration of two of the immersive simulations offered at the weekly Realms event. This firsthand experience not only allowed them to witness the transformative power of VR technology but also empowered them to translate it into tangible elements within their business plans, adding an extra layer of depth and realism to their proposals.

By the workshop's conclusion, the students had collectively generated a wealth of innovative plans, each unique and brimming with potential. The culmination came in the form of captivating 90-second business pitches, where students showcased their visions for the future of Realms. Witnessing them utilize the business model canvas and leverage the mentors' insights to lay the groundwork for Realms' evolution was truly inspiring.

The future of Realms holds great potential, and the Innovation Hub is excited to see that others believe so as well. Through these plans fantastic potential for the Realms event is seen. Stay tuned for further innovations as the Hub continues to be a place of curiosity and creativity where bright minds will continue to converge and create exciting ideas.
